How to Teach English Literacy

The English Language is notoriously hard to teach and learn. Ask almost anyone, and they’ll tell you our spelling system makes no sense. Even most teachers don’t know how to present it in a logical way, leading millions of kids to struggle for adequate literacy.

I’ve taught hundreds of local kids to read and write, and I’ve learned an incredible amount about literacy instruction. In this 90 minute class, I’m going to share all I can about my approach, my methods, and my tools. I want to help teachers and parents find success instilling this fundamental skillset.

You’ll learn why English has a complex spelling code. We’ll map its complexity, and I’ll teach you the inherent logic of our code (yes, there is one!). Then you’ll learn how to teach in line with this logic. I’m going to outline the basics of teaching with a logical, linguistic approach.

I’ll articulate all the common pitfalls of literacy instruction, and how to avoid them. Whether you’re a homeschooling parent, or a classroom teacher, this introductory class will start you and your students on the right path, this school year, and far beyond.

Cost is $90, payable immediately to confirm registration. (Refunds are available through 9/18 if your plans change).

Complete the registration form, and you’ll get access to learning materials I’m posting for participants. You’ll download a valuable code chart, and links to articles and videos.

This class is a prerequisite for other online trainings I’m going to offer. If you can’t attend this one, I’ll be scheduling more dates. Fill out the interest form, and I’ll be in touch.
